    Interview with Alen Katic, Omnium student and holder of the Credit Suisse Corporate Scholarship

    A corporate lawyer by profession, Alen Katic has enjoyed a diversity of careers and experience: as an archaeologist excavating Roman colonies in the Balkans and Nabataean settlements in the Middle East , to training as a constable with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). Alen was born in Ottawa, Canada, and is fluent in five foreign languages and conversant in several others. He currently lives in Toronto, Canada and is employed by the Royal Bank of Canada providing in-house counsel on complex documentation and borrower structure.

    Interview with Raj Hayer, Omnium student and holder of the Credit Suisse Corporate Scholarship

    Raj has been with TD Bank for four years and is responsible for running national programs to support the branch network. She has been involved in Real Estate Secured Lending process improvements and recently she pioneered the National Mystery Shop Program. Prior to TD, she worked for BMO Capital Markets for five years, and has over 20 years of customer experience, management and project management experience. She graduated her Bachelor of Commerce with the Presidents Scholar and Chancellors Awards. She is a novice rock climber, enjoys biking, traveling, and hosting dinners and social events for friends.

Eli Viloria is a professional engineer with many years of experience in industrial Manufacturing and Operations in several countries in the Americas.     Switzerland has retained for the 3rd time in series its position at the top of the overall rankings in the Global Competitiveness Report 2011-2012 of the World Economic Forum (WEF). The Executive School of the University of St. Gallen accomplished the data collection for the WEF among over thousand manager of Swiss companies.

    June 20- July 8: Visit the European Module in St. Gallen or Budapest

    Join the current Omnium class during the European Module in St. Gallen / Budapest!

    Campus Visits are possible between June 20th and July 8th, 2011. 

    Students will meet in St. Gallen for the first two module weeks (June 20-30). Courses include Corporate Governance with Prof. Dr. Martin Hilb, International Finance with Dr. Torsten Truijens and Leadership with Prof. Dr. Heike Bruch. The third module week will take place in Budapest at our partner institution, the Corvinus University of Budapest. You are welcome to join in as guest auditor.     HSG President?s Board takes stock

    The term of office of the 2005-2011 President's Board is coming to an end. A brochure entitled "Vision und Leitbild 2010 - Eine Bilanz des Rektorats" sums up, in interviews, facts and figures, the six years during which the outgoing HSG Management has been in office. It is concerned with issues such as quality assurance in research and teaching, the significance of basic research vs. practice-oriented research, the HSG's internationalisation strategy and its funding model.

    Award for Martin Hilb

    Prof. Dr. Martin Hilb, the founder of the IFPM Center for Corporate Governance at the University of St.Gallen (HSG), has been awarded a gold medal in Corporate Governance by the International Academy of Quality "for exceptional contributions to the principles and practice of quality in governance". After Prof. Ira Millstein, the leading American governance expert of the Yale School of Management in New York, Martin Hilb is only the second academic to receive this worldwide award.
